Feels like Spring in the GUFS School Forest
The GUFS School Forest is not just an amazing resource enjoyed by our kids on Forest Fridays or School Forest Day, but also is a great resource for families to explore anytime! With yesterday's beautiful weather, it was a perfect day to visit the South Redoubt and enjoy the almost spring views! GCEF is thrilled to support activities and exploration in the school forest and relys on your donations to make that possible. Speaking of spring .... Spring Thaw is getting closer! Jo

Creative Constructions!
K-2 students are making some incredible art in the Creative Constructions PTA after school program! They just finished up Joseph Cornell-inspired box constructions this Thursday (photo below) and will soon start on a new project. Students will be talking about the artist Louise Nevelson and how she collected interesting found objects to use in her work. The teacher has asked that each student bring in at least one (relatively small) object of interest to incorporate into the

Dancing 8th graders!
Check out these dancing 8th graders! This spring GCEF approved a $1,000 grant to cover the cost of a dance instructor, Belle Ritter, to teach the 8th graders swing dance as part of their production of Much Ado About Anything. She will also help choreograph two dances for the play. Thank you Ian Berger for submitting this grant and exposing our kids to this enriching experience!

I spy with my little eye ... Mr. John!
Wondering why Mr. John was painting in the library today? GCEF just funded the 100th Anniversay Museum Display grant, submitted by Mr. John. This $2,476 grant allowed GUFS to purchase three display cases that will be prominently placed in the GUFS Library. These display cases will become the venue for a student-created school museum that provides students with an opportunity to research and connect with their school’s past. Next time you are at GUFS, pop in the library to che

No school, no problem! A little snow does not deter the ladies of Garrison! On Friday evening over 40 women attended our sold out Winter Garden Ladies' Night. This event raised money for programming at GUFS, with a special focus on one of our cornerstone programs, Hudson Valley Seed. Thank you to Kyoko Gelber for hosting in her beautiful home and board member Stacy Morrison for organizing the event. Thank you Carl Nelson for providing rides home (otherwise known by his driver
