K-2 Outdoor Discovery Lab
It's here! The K-2 Outdoor Discovery Lab is here! Last spring GCEF funded Mrs. Greene and Mrs. Ricci's grant request for $1,500 in seed money to purchase sand/water tables, sensory toys, balls, block and various nature items for the GUFS Courtyard. This workspace for K-2 students encourages sensory play, exploration, and discovery by providing hands on learning activities. This experience in the “outdoor classroom” will enhance the science curriculum and other academic areas.

Look for the GCEF blue pumpkin!
Come stop by our table at Fall Festival on Saturday to learn more about the programs GCEF funds. Look for our school spirited blue pumpkin (courtesy of GCEF board member Lisa Rasic) to find us. See you tomorrow!

On Tuesdays, it is "All About the Book"
One of the grants we funded this fall partially covers the cost of bringing Kate Daley to teach a PTA after school enrichment program. Kate Daley is an artist and teacher with the Garrison Art Center. She has been exploring with our kids all the exciting possibilities of bookmaking, using recycled, marbleized paper and showing them pop-ups and roll ups. Ultimately these handmade books can be used as journals, sketchbooks, scrapbooks, and photo albums. Check out these happy K-

Kids, are you ready to Design, Build, and Play?
Coming soon to GUFS ... Imagination Playground! Thank you to our new principal, John Griffiths, who submitted a grant request for this program.
